Laura's Bosnia Blog-Part 2 - 9/11/09

Friday, September 11, 2009, 1:10 am, PST, 9:10 am, BST

I took my Ambien, converted my seat to a bed, made it up with a fluffy duvet and pillow, settled in with a yawn and a smile, but alas, sleep was fitful at best, and for the most part, eluded me.  Oh well....I’m not complaining.  I was able to stretch out and actually don’t feel too bad.  My seat is converted back to a chair and I’m enjoying a lovely breakfast of fruit and yogurt, croissant, juice and coffee.  I can see on my tv map that we are currently flying over the UK, Glasgow to be exact.  We are 467 miles from London, travelling 546 mph at an altitude of 38,995....54 minutes until we touch down, my first steps on foreign soil to be taken.

I’m feeling anxious about going through Customs and navigating Heathrow airport.  I’ve heard that Customs is a breeze, but just the same, it’s new to me....something I’ve never done.  Paul tells me it’s nothing to worry about, so I believe I’ll take his advice and do just that.  I’m going to enjoy the final hour of my flight and take one last look through my London travel guide.  I’ll be landing at 10:15 am and have an exciting day ahead of me, exploring a new city in a foreign country!
